This Polka Dot Half Pint Mug is a colourful and complementary piece to the Polka Dot range by Emma Bridgewater. It is made in the classic ‘tankard-style’ shape inspired by the mugs made in the 19^th century Staffordshire potteries.

The vibrant sponge-ware patterns of coloured polka-dots spaced across the body of the mug looks wonderful when mixed with the hand-stencilled ‘MUMMY’ lettering found on the front of the mug in a luscious red, contrasted with the austere cream backdrop upon which the polka-dots strikingly lay. The interior rim of this beautiful mug continues the colourful nature of the exterior, with further polka-dots inside the rim.

Not suitable for Microwave use. Not Oven safe.

Dishwasher safe, however it is recommended to wash in lower temperature with liquid detergent to maintain appearance.

This is everyday Emma Bridgewater earthenware at its best! Polka Dot is a wonderful design to mix and match, because of the simplicity of the pattern and the variety of colours on the pieces: pale blue, pale green, dark green, yellow and red on pale cream earthenware. The Emma Bridgewater palette may vary between ranges, but her tonality is always similar, partly because of the sponge-printed nature of her designs. Because of this, her pieces will always work when mixed and matched together. The Emma Bridgewater classic dresser is never restricted to only one range and Polka Dot is the collection which blends all the others together. Arguably the most famous Emma Bridgewater design, possibly the most successful, certainly one of her earliest, Polka Dot is timeless, cheerful, and endlessly versatile.

Emma Bridgewater’s English earthenware is hand-made in her factory in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire in England. The spongeware patterns are decorated entirely by hand.

Depending on the reason, you may be asked to send the item back to us.
